We’ll explore how text selection can bring reading comprehension, social and emotional learning, and social justice together. We will use beautiful, diverse books as a vehicle to teach ways of thinking and being to engage all students. The workshop will help teachers decide on criteria for choosing texts, know how to find texts, as well as offer practices for rich conversations with students around them.
