Spotlight On TMI Artists Mini-course Series, STEM

Explore ways to teach coding to our youngest learners using both plugged and unplugged strategies.  This session is filled with tips, tricks, and activities that can be applied in the classroom immediately as we build familiarity with coding language for our littlest learners.

Session Objectives: 

  • Participants will be able to immediately apply activities in the classroom that will teach students the basic foundations of coding language in an unplugged manner.

  • Participants will learn of free resources available to infuse coding experiences into the various content areas across all grade levels.


Presenter: Christine Lion-Bailey is the Chief Strategy Officer/Founder of Ready Learner One, LLC, a company that specializes in innovative solutions for learning and training both in education and the corporate space.  Christine also serves as the Director of Technology & Innovation and an Elementary  Principal in Morris Plains, NJ and as a professor of instructional technology at Ramapo College of NJ.  Christine sits on the Advisory Board for the Transformative Leadership Program at Pace University- Lubin School of Business.  She is the co-author of Reality Bytes:  Innovative Learning Using Augmented & Virtual Reality (Jan 2020) and The Esports Education Playbook: Empowering Every Learner Through Inclusive Gaming (Nov 2020).  Christine is a national/international keynote and presenter on innovative solutions for learning and training.
