Gerardo A. Muñoz is the 2021 Colorado Teacher of the Year, Producer and co-host of the podcast Too Dope Teachers and a Mic, and a doctoral student at the University of Denver. He has been a middle and high school teacher for twenty-two years in Denver Public Schools, the last fifteen at the Denver Center for International Studies. He is mostly interested in classrooms that are centered by students, powered by teachers, and safe spaces for creativity and identity exploration. In this session, teachers will learn some basics of hip hop pedagogy, identity texts, creative self-expression and loving the game.
