Social-Emotional Learning, Spotlight On TMI Artists Mini-course Series

Providing space to connect with students is critical. Whether in our classrooms or virtually, we can foster connectedness by leveraging the right tools. By creating a space to communicate and exchange information, we promote the development of essential SEL and future-ready skills. 

Session Objectives: 

  • Explore the five (5) competencies of SEL and how to provide opportunities for students to build SEL

  • Share ideas for creating a flexible, student-driven learning environment, where students build their confidence, and relationships and collaborate on a learning adventure.

  • Learn ways to provide opportunities for students to connect globally and what the benefits are for student learning, and having access to authentic and real-world learning experiences.


Presenter: Rachelle Dené Poth is an edtech consultant, presenter, attorney, author, and teacher. Rachelle teaches Spanish and STEAM: What’s nExT in Emerging Technology at Riverview High School in Oakmont, PA. Rachelle has a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law and a Master’s in Instructional Technology.  Rachelle is an ISTE Certified Educator and serves as the past-president of the ISTE Teacher Education Network and serves on the Leadership team of the Mobile Learning Network. At ISTE19, she received the Making IT Happen Award and has received several Presidential Gold Awards for volunteer service to education.
