We will see and make concrete connections among SEL, Trauma-Informed, and Equity, including the “sweet spot” for students and the intersections of the three strands. Having an integrated structure/approach can quell the feeling of overwhelm.

Participants will:

Investigate the skills and dispositions inherent in the intersections of SEL, Trauma-Informed, and Equity
Contemplate their contribution (current and future) to hasten the journey to equitable outcomes for each student.

Presenter: Sharon McCarthy, SEL evangelist, is President of ENVISION: Breakthroughs in Learning, a consulting firm she founded in 2000. ENVISION specializes in all areas of human relations, including group dynamics, parent-child relationships, behavioral engineering, self-regulation, quality teaching, Social-Emotional Learning for equity, trauma response, and effective leadership. Ms. McCarthy is well versed in the fields of neuro-linguistics (communications model), educational neuroscience, brain theory and personality styles.
