Things Fall Apart: Teaching What Matters in Uncertain Times (6-12)
We’ve entered, bravely, if not entirely confidently, a new world of education: “remote learning”, economic peril, and the existential surreality of an uncertain future. How do we, as empathetic educators, ensure we maintain our focus on what truly matters during these tenuous times?
In this session, we’ll look at proven strategies for secondary literacy instruction that emphasizes strengthening the human bond between students and their peers, teachers, and the greater community, while maintaining the academic expectations of their curricula. We’re in it, there’s no denying that; but we’re in it together.
