Building Engaging iSTEAM Experiences, Challenges, and Projects (No Cost for TMI PLC Members)

The TMI Education iSTEAM Series - Program No. 2

Building Engaging iSTEAM Experiences, Challenges, and Projects

iSTEAM integrates science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics in order to promote student-led inquiry, higher-order thinking, collaborative problem-solving, creativity, and innovation in an authentic context that is relevant and meaningful to all learners.

To this end, we are pleased to offer our constituents this most exciting, innovative and practical professional learning workshop series, including our large-scale 2020 iSTEAM Conference (Date TBD)! Attend any one, two... or all!

Program No.  2 - Building Engaging iSTEAM Experiences, Challenges, and Projects:  The iSTEAM process is built upon an integration foundation including five aspects: investigate, discover, connect, create, and reflect. Adding the arts to a STEM lesson shifts the focus toward the creativity and innovation needed to solve problems. In order to build engaging iSTEAM experiences, there needs to be an intentional connection between standards, assessments, and lesson design/implementation.

These process-based learning experiences will foster collaboration and connections between two or more standards from science, technology, engineering, math, and the arts.
