TMI Education and Gravity Goldberg, LLC are proud to offer The Literacy Alliance for the 2018-2019 school year. The Literacy Alliance provides school districts with a community-based, comprehensive and sustained professional development solution to promote exemplary K-12 literacy practices - across ALL content areas.

As a member of the 2018-2019 Literacy Alliance, your district will have access to an extensive collection of membership benefits, including:

  • Minimum of 10 premium grade level-specific K-12 workshops and eventsdesigned for K-12 teachers and educational leaders - and - totaling nearly 500 PD credit hours!
  • Minimum of 5 after school literacy study group sessions, organized around “hot topics” in literacy instruction
  • Professional books and resources, including the latest publications from Gravity Goldberg, Patty McGee, Pam Koutrakos and Katie Cunningham, to name a few
  • Discounted rates for TMI Education and Gravity Goldberg, LLC in-district services, workshops and special events
  • Sustained email support and professional guidance
  • Graduate course replacement credit for the Ramapo College MA in Ed. Leadership Program


2018-2019 Literacy Alliance Workshop Offerings

The 2018-2019 Literacy Alliance workshop schedule will is currently available. As is our customary practice, all program of offerings will align to current NJDOE mandates and iniatives, research-based best pedagogical practices and member feedback. The 2018-2019 workshop offerings will include the following:

  • Using What Works: Starting Up Math Workshop in the Elementary Classroom, K-5
  • Word Study That Sticks!
  • Introduction to Balanced Literacy, K-8 (two-session program)
  • Growing Thinking: Talking, Reading and Writing in Math, K-5
  • From Passive to Passionate: Developing Engaging, Authentic Reading Discussions, 9-12
  • A Current Curriculum: Integrating "Live Texts" Into Literacy Instruction, 6-12
  • Making Balanced  Literacy Work in Special Education Settings, K-8 (two-Session program)
  • Assessment Literacy: How Do You Know Your Students Know?
  • Differentiation, I Already do That! Centers? That Only Works for Elementary! (K-8)
     


2018-2019 Literacy Alliance Membership Information

 Membership Fee - $4,500 (allows for up to 5 seats/workshop and all other membership benefits; additional seats provided, when available, on a first-come, first-serve basis)

And the benefits don’t end there! As a member-district of The Literacy Alliance you can have access to an additional 500 professional development hours through the TMI Professional Learning Consortium. As a member of the TMI Consortium your staff will have access to premium professional development programs, conferences and events in support of topics including, but not limited to: social-emotional learning, executive function, mindful practices, brain-based teaching and learning, current topics/issues in school law, differentiation, technology integration, and more - all for a discounted single annual fee of $2995 (standard membership fee is $4250)!

As a community-based initiative, The Literacy Alliance invites all member-districts to participate as active stakeholders in the framework process. This means we highly encourage and welcome input from each member-district in ensuring our framework will meet, and satisfy, the needs and expectations of each respective member-district as well as the collective community of member-districts as a whole. Feedback from member-district leadership and their staff is critical to achieving the collective goals and objectives of The Literacy Alliance.

Each member district may have up to 5 teachers participate in each of the 10+ programs throughout the 2018-2019 school year. The individual teachers/administrators attending each session is at the discretion of the member-district.
